KUCHING: The management of One Jaya Shopping Mall, 1J Management Sdn Bhd will be holding a two-day event in conjunction with the shopping mall’s first anniversary of its opening on November 28 2011.

The event which will commence on November 26 (Saturday) will consist of a junior talent quest and a teenage singing competition on the first and second day, respectively. Kuchingite singer Dave Chai will grace the events with his presence as a judge as well as a performer.

“We also have gifts lined up for our lucky draw. There will be a total of four draws, the first of which will be a live draw on this Saturday. The gifts include iPad 2, Samsung Galaxy Tab, digital camera, notebook, LCD television among others,” 1J Management leasing and promotion executive, Kimberly Guan told The Borneo Post.

To participate in the lucky draw, Guan informed that shoppers could just spend RM50 and above at any of the 70 participating outlets within the mall. The final draw was scheduled on New Year’s Day next year, along with more exciting events planned.

The duration for participants to get a chance to win the prizes is from October 28 to December 31. The participating tenants include anchor tenants such as Smart Bookshop, Bukit Mata Seafood, Optique Chain and many more.

In addition to the lucky draw, Guan urged shoppers to also look out for the opportunity to win mystery gifts from the outlets by cutting out the tenants’ logos on the advertisements on The Borneo Post which are published between October 29 and November 28.

Another exciting programme that Guan highlighted would be the Mine’s Collection fashion show.

“Attendees will be in for an interesting show with a special surprise from the fashion models as well as a dance performance which would liven up the event.”

Guan enthused that the mall had been quite happening with approximately 85 per cent occupancy.

“While there is some turnover where tenants move in and out, I believe we are doing quite well relative to other malls.”

She went on to explain that the mall has its own target market – that being the younger and trendier generation. She believed that the mall has an important role as a fashion hub to this unique target market, which meant that it would stand strong amid the increased competition from upcoming malls.
